Omagh is in Northern Ireland. Find Northern Ireland on the map of the United Kingdom. The southern Republic of Ireland isn't part of the UK.

Omagh is west of Belfast, north of Enniskillen and is shown on the map clearly. Our guests from Omagh, Northern Ireland were visiting the United States for two weeks. Their last day in America was in our Scituate community. I hope they enjoyed their day with us. We certainly did enjoy their company.

Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts are the states that comprise New England. John Smith from Jamestown, Virginia gave New England its name when he mapped the region in 1614.

The Scituate Sailors were honored to participate in a basketball clinic at the Kingston Sports Center on July 12, 2014 with a visiting 17 Under basketball team from Omagh, Northern Ireland.  After the clinic both teams went back to Scituate to enjoy a barbeque in Sand Hills together.  It was a very special day.  Our Irish guests were great people and a pleasure to get to know.

Basketball is the best game in the world. Play hard always.
Did I mention my Irish brothers you are going to need to play hard?
5 Spot Shooting demonstration.
Spacing is so essential to playing successful basketball. Once the floor is spaced "let the skills take over" provided you have the skills.

Coach Fisher & The Marshfield Rams also conducted a clinic with the Omagh Thunder. Here is a photo with Coach Daly.

Our Marshfield neighbors play hard. Their Division 1 status matches them up year after year with the best the state can produce as does our Division 2 status The ACL and Patriot League opponents are talented, well coached and are under estimated by the rest of the state. MHS and SHS basketball cultures have many similarities. Playing hard every time you lace your sneakers and step over the lines is one of them. Regardless if they are our opponent or not, you got to respect the Marshfield Rams. Here in Scituate we have great respect for Coach Fisher's Marshfield Rams. The Rams put on an excellent clinic with our Irish guests.

Omagh Thunder on Turner Road at Sand Hills. For some reason I think our Irish brothers enjoyed the barbeque more than the basketball clinics.

Ben McLarey & Tom Reardon present Coach Daly with Scituate jersey. Coach Daly told us he plans on hanging our Scituate jersey proudly at their club in place of honor in Omagh, Northern Ireland.

It was a beautiful day in Scituate on July 12, 2014. Our guests enjoyed their day at the beach. Tom Reardon is showing the folks how the game is played.

Sand Hills is a perfect place to spend a day at the beach. This day was the last day of the trip to the U.S. and the Irish team took full advantage of the day.

Scituate Lighthouse
The Omagh Thunder team walked down to the Light House as a team. I was impressed they took the time to see this famous Scituate landmark.
